Community Involvement

RCMP, Nechako Northcoast and the Ministry of Transportation conducted an educational check stop Nov. 27 on Hwy. 37.

At Nechako Northcoast Construction and Billabong Road and Bridge Maintenance contact with the community and our stakeholders is fundamental to our business. That’s why our team works closely with our transportation partners to promote safety on our highways. Educational highway road stops and community winter roads forums occur at the beginning of each winter to promote safe driving habits and the use of winter tires.

Working in partnership with ICBC, the RCMP, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement department, the companies are committed to promoting safe driving habits on our area highways and roads.

Nechako Northcoast Construction and Billabong Road and Bridge Maintenance Inc. support numerous organizations, sporting groups and other community initiatives throughout the region. We live in the northwest as well and we believe in supporting the communities in which we operate.

Caring for our environment
Nechako Group of Companies is committed to doing our part in reducing greenhouse gasses and being more environmentally sensitive in our day to day operations. That’s one of our considerations as we continue to upgrade our equipment to be more fuel efficient and reduce emissions.

We also look at the small things we all can do to reduce our impact on the environment such as checking tire pressure regularly and reducing idling time. Recycling is a fundamental part of our operations and we are proud to participate in initiatives to recycle batteries, steel, paper, scrap iron, oil, tires and other items.
